The target

Beta Diagnostic Labs, a CLIA/COLA-certified clinical laboratory in Mt Pleasant, Wisconsin, performs high-volume forensic and clinical toxicology testing — including urine drug screening for DUI and substance monitoring cases — using multiple LC-MS/MS (liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry) instruments. The lab needed a dependable, on-site source of high-purity nitrogen to serve as carrier and nebulizing gas across several simultaneously running mass spectrometers, replacing costly and logistically demanding cylinder deliveries while maintaining consistent gas purity for accurate, court-defensible results.

Solution

Safe Equip installed a PSA nitrogen generator, model GNW-15, producing 560 SCFH of nitrogen at 99.5% purity and up to 100 psig outlet pressure — sized to supply multiple mass spectrometers simultaneously. The system includes a 10 HP Kaishan air compressor with integrated air receiver and refrigerated dryer, multi-stage filtration, oxygen trace analyzer, full commissioning, and a 12-month warranty — giving the laboratory a continuous, self-sufficient nitrogen supply for uninterrupted toxicology testing.
