The target

The company produces capsules for coffee.
After the expiration of a 20-year patent for Nestle's invention of capsules for their coffee machines, many people had the opportunity to produce capsules for Nespresso coffee machines themselves. Company X was one of the first on the market to start producing this type of capsules on the most modern Italian equipment using the most technologically advanced materials - the capsules themselves and the protective foil.

Solution

Nitrogen is used for food packaging and also in coffee packaging. Nitrogen is supplied to the coffee grinder and directly to the packaging machine. Thus, after grinding the coffee beans have no contact with the environment and oxygen. This increases the shelf life of the coffee many times over to more than a year. Several years have passed since the machine was put into operation in 2015, and tests show that the quality of the coffee has not changed at all. The multi-layer foil in which the capsules are packaged also plays an important role in this.
